Creating & Supporting Youth Music Programs with Whimsical Art
With sales of her products and applying for corporate matching funds, Becky has donated thousands of dollars to youth music programs since the inception of Music Teacher Gifts company, previously “Violettes by Becky”.
In addition, she conducts an Annual Youth Music Composition Competition (8 years).

In spring of 2016, Becky Chaffee started creating whimsical music-themed paintings with acrylics on canvas. The paintings have vibrant colors. They were immediately popular, which inspired Becky to paint all day and all night producing over 100 in 6 months. The cards were quickly selling in New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Minnesota, Nashville, Townsend and Knoxville, TN. Becky opened in a local Hallmark in November 2017.
Becky made Violin Purses for world renowned Violinist Rachel Barton Pine and her daughter in the spring of Spring 2017.
Style & Quality -
Becky's Folk Art style of painting has been well received. It is filled with humor and detail that sometimes takes a second look to find in her paintings. She loves the idea of illustrating lessons, making her work useful for children. The bright colors and humor help make the lessons memorable.
She comes to this work after degrees in Civil Engineering from UC Berkeley and Cornell University, working in the field, then volunteering at church and school while raising two musical children.
Inquire if you are interested in purchasing an original, as Becky hasn't had time to put them on sale. She has received several offers for gallery displays, and may focus on that in the future.

All Becky's prints are from her original paintings and wacky imagination.
The purses are all designed by Becky. The originals are handmade and hand painted. Some of the designs have been outsourced for price reduction. Most of the outsourced purses are finished personally by Becky.
Silk scarves are painted by Becky to order. You may request a simple scene and color scheme or an instrument to feature on the scarves.

After the Purse Beginnings
“After several years of making Music Purses as Violettes by Becky, my Mother wanted to take art class. So I took her and I learned too. The Folk Art started with illustrations of music lessons and practice tips sprinkled with my brand of humor. Gradually with requests, topics expanded to community, weddings, pets, wild animals, yoga and most recently educational cards with linguistics and science concepts. Newest is our Educational Place mats and Children’s Picture Book to encourage Music Practice. Remember that I love requests!”
