from $4.00

Educational Card

Wild Animal Series, No. 14

“Elk and Pileated Woodpecker”

Elk are nocturnal creatures, and majestic to see in person. They are vegetarians. In March they lose their antlers, then soon shed their fur. In summer, they roll in mud to keep cool and in September they “rut” for mating season, which includes making bugling sounds heard 1 mile away to challenge other bulls and attract cows. They love high elevations.

Pileated Woodpeckers are the largest woodpeckers in North America. They love rotten wood for the carpenter ant nests. They make rectangular holes in dead trees.

This Print comes as 4 by 6 Note Cards with envelopes and matted OD 16 in. by 20 in. prints.
