Orchestra Practice Encouragement

Practicing is what it is all about if you are going to play a musical instrument! That’s why our Music Gifts are created - to encourage practicing. Carry a violin purse to show your pride. Now you can get a “Practice Teeto wear, “Vitamin P is for Practice”. We have a series of new practice products being launched in the next two months. If you don’t see a shirt style, size or color that you like, contact us right away. Children’s sizes and colors are also available both in our Style/T-Shirt and Book Accessories shops. All music gift shirts and accessories are created by Becky from her music art found in our Note Card/Print shop.

There are a lot of things that you can do for your own health. Practicing an instrument is actually one of them! Scientists have found that it uses your whole brain, more so than any other art; and more so than playing a sport. Whether you are young or old, practicing an instrument helps your brain grow (neuron connections). If we can educate children about how great practicing is, and what it does for you whether you are young or old, we can empower them to choose to practice on their own. The better you get, the more fun it is to play. The better you get, the more opportunities you have to join in the fun with other groups. Even if you put your music down for many years to pursue a very different career, it’s something you can pick up again at a later date. You can have so much fun, and it even helps you make social connections. There are music clubs, community orchestras and community bands. You can play for birthday parties and events if you like. Play duets with friends… There are endless possibilities to the fun you can have when you can play an instrument.

Learning to play a musical instrument well is a music gift that you give yourself.
