Picture 19.1 Relax With Good Posture and Plant Your Feet notes Kelle Jolly (in painting with her sax playing husband, Will Boyd). Kelle Jolly, the Ukulele Playing Jazz Singer and Media Personality, never ceases to amaze me with her ability to do so many things well. She loves to garden in addition to all else that she does. A talented seamstress, she designs and sews her own outfits quickly, often out of found material. I think she owns about 11 sewing machines.

Picture 19.2 Play Thru Mistakes. I start working on an idea. Then I often talk to my friends about it, kicking around ideas to add humor. There are many people who I should call my right hand (wo)man. But Pianist and Music Teacher, Pam Robertson, takes the cake. I love to run my ideas by her, and she bounces ideas right back at me. Many of my paintings have something that either she thought of, or our brainstorming made me think of. Yet, she’ll never take any credit! I was trying to think of what surprise to put into this painting to disrupt the pianist when I called her. I think she thought of having a little mouse marching thru.

I couldn’t wait to arrive home to paint it. The cellist playing mindfully is enjoying the spotlight with audience participation. The angels are blowing peas between her repeated phrases. Even the notes are thinking here. with a glowing lightbulb showing this and the individual notes actually have brains. Whereas, the other cellist has the curtains coming down on her, and her notes are falling to the floor.
